Mrs. Sabrina Williams
Founder/Executive Director
Greetings to all our students,
families, staff, and members of the extended Excell Academy community.
Welcome to our 8th school year; a year of New Beginnings. We have many
new plans that are in place to assist our students in achieving
excellence in scholarship and in character development. As always, the
partnership of home, school and community is strongly encouraged as it
has proven to serve our students well.
We are indeed excited about the reorganization and
expansion of our staff, our educational and enrichment programs, as well
as the new addition to our facility. The building addition includes a
new Jr. High sized gymnasium, a state of the art music and band studio,
two new middle school learning labs, new welcoming front entry, offices,
library nook and enrichment gathering spaces. We are firm in our belief
that this restructuring of Excell Academy will support student learning,
increase academic achievement and encourage character development in our
students as well as increase positive relationships in the entire Excell
community.
Our yearly theme has been revised as “Appreciating
Our World Around Us.” As we join with other public and private schools,
families, business partners and community organizations to “create
communities of learners” for our schools, the Excell family will be in
the forefront. We will examine different avenues of how we understand,
appreciate, contribute to and benefit from our greater global community.
We are happy to share with you Excell Academy’s
website for 2008-2009 school year. This website provides students,
families, teachers and the community with information about Excell
Academy, its programs, community events and partnerships.
This booklet is only a starting place for
communication. If you have specific questions concerning information on
this website, or about some other information regarding Excell Academy,
please feel free to contact us by letter or phone. We strongly
encourage parent and community involvement our learners’ education and
we look forward to a great partnership with you.
Learning
involves a great deal of time and effort on the part of students,
families, teachers and the community. By working together as a team, we
can be assured that students will be able to take full advantage of the
opportunity that is provided them at Excell Academy. I know students
will develop pride in being “Excell Scholars” and that this pride will
show in their achievements and positive attitudes.
We look forward to another great year at Excell
Academy. Thank you for what we know will be an exceptionally fruitful
and academically profitable year for us all!
Sincerely,
Sabrina
