Excell Academy Holds Back-to-School Retreat
In preparation for the upcoming school year, the administration at Excell Academy held a two-day retreat for all staff at the Northland Inn in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, home city of the school. The all-day event of August 9 and 10 was intended to infuse a well deserved boost of courage, patience, understanding, and a loving and conducive atmosphere, in working with students. The event brought together about eighty returning and new staff members, including teachers, administrators and support staff.
The event was the kick-off of scheduled activities to mark the opening of the 2010-2011 school year. Officiating the main lecture session on the first day was the school’s HR Consultant, Mrs. Jessica Jackson, as has been in past years. Mrs. Jackson placed strong emphasis on cultures, and cross-cultures and where all of their surrounding elements should ethically meet to establish the one human race.
The second day was marked by numerous activities of games and fun. A serious session ensued at one point involving discussions amongst the teachers and staff about what to expect in the classrooms and how to deal with prevalent situations.
The Mayor of the City of Brooklyn Park, Mr. Steve Lampi paid an end-of-day visit and spoke briefly about his city and impending developments. When asked, the Mayor also pointed out the ethnic compositions of his city.
By the end of both days, it was clear; the retreat had implanted an enhanced level of enthusiasms and motivation in the Excell Academy family of teachers and staff.
