A Reading Duty

Director Williams delivers a message of "Knowledge" to the students.

The Executive Director of Excell Academy, Mrs. Sabrina Williams, made a commitment at the beginning of the school year to be involved in the Sunshine Reading Program. Every morning between 8:45 and 9:15, Mrs. Williams and other staff members read to students who have arrived early and are finished with breakfast.

This program exposes students to reading and to some of the wonderful children's books that are available. Ask your child what their favorite story has been so far. The Sunshine Reading Program has been a huge success and you can be a part of it too. If you would like to volunteer to read one morning, please call the school.

We were able to capture one of Mrs. Williams' reading sessions and are pleased to share some of those pictures with you.

Grasping the students' interest.

02/23/2009 I would like to thank the teachers (Mrs. James, Mrs. Eilers, Ms. Griffith, etc.) who are diligent every morning in ensuring the Sunshine Reading program at Excell is consistent and successful. Thanks for all of your time and effort staff. This is just another example of Excell making a difference and changing tomorrows for children today!
